Most laser-shooter simulators assume that the “ballistics” of the round is the speed of light. VR shooters (and video games) assume that the “ballistics” are the speed of light. No time of flight, no drop. If only
That is ballistic fantasy island – since the trainer does not teach leading a target, drop, etc. So the user learns to shoot exactly where the target was when they pulled the trigger -not where the target will be when the round gets there.
To correct that, our patented commercial solution teaches the ballistically correct lead and drop on a target by displaying the true aim point – the one you have to hit in order for the round to intercept a mover.
Fortunately, the Marines have figured this out and will revise their simulators to show ballistically correct aim points. Not Fantasy Ballistics
